What to Eat?
When it comes to the extremely wide range of food available its important to know only some promote maximum health. Depending on many many factors which I will eventually discuss, one has to decide on how much of eat food group one will consume from. This is my general understanding thus far.

Foods
Whole Grains - Macrobiotics says this should be 50-60% of your diet.
Including brown rice, whole wheat berries, barley, millet, oats, and rye, as well as corn, buckwheat, and other botanically similar plants.
From time to time, whole grain products such as cracked wheat, rolled oats, noodles, pasta, bread, baked goods, and other flour products may be served as part of this volume of food.
Vegetables - Macrobiotics states 25-30% of diet should be Vegetables.
Root Vegetables - cabbage, carrots, burdock, daikon radish, jerusalem artichokes, potatoes and sweet potatoes.
Green Vegetables - curly kale, collard greens, broccoli, daikon greens, turnip greens, mustard seeds, spinach and watercress
Ground Vegetables - onions, squash(fall & winter) and cucumbers.Sea Vegetables - Kombu, wakame, nori, dulse, hijiki, arame.
Legumes - Tofu, tempeh, natto, azuki beans, lentils, soybeans, kidney beans and chickpeas.
Fresh Fruit - apples, pears, peaches, apricots, grapes, berries, melons, avocado, bananas, olives, mango, pineapple, cherries, oranges, lemons.
Dried Fruit - apricots, figs, dates, prunes.
Oily Fish - salmon, mackerel, trout, sardines, and herring or seafood a few times a week with grated daikon, horseradish, fresh ginger, or mustard to detox.
Nuts + Seeds - Linseed, walnuts, brazil nuts, fresh peanuts, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, pine nuts, sesame seeds and poppy seeds.
Garnishes - sliced scallions, parsely sprigs, nori squares or strips, fresh grated gingerroot.
Sauces - kuzu root powerder or arrowroot flour.
Salty Seasonings - Sea Salt, miso and tarmari soy sauce. brown rice vinegar, umeboshi vingegar, umeboshi plums, and grated gingerroot.
Energy Herbs - Ashwagandha, blue-green algae, ginseng, brazilian ginseng, siberian ginseng, ginkgo, gotu kola, guarana, maca, reishi, schisandra, yerba mate,
Cooking Oils - Dark sesame oil. Moderately uselight sesame oil, corn oil and mustard seed oil. For special occasions use safflorwer oil, olive oil, walnut oil.
Pickles - (each day to aid digestion) eat daikon, turnips, cabbage, carrots, and califlower that are aged in sea salt, rice, wheat bran. tamari soy sauce, umeboshi plums, or shiso leaves or miso.
