Holonic Theory
The concept of a holon came from the writings of Arthur Koestler. He observed that it seems every entity and concept shares a dual nature: as a whole unto itself, and as a part of some other whole. For example, a cell in an organism is a whole and at the same time a part of another whole, the organism.
Another example is that a letter is a self-existing entity and simultaneously an integral part of a word, which then is part of a sentence, which is part of a paragraph, which is part of a page; and so on. Benefits can come from taking this perspective towards anything from quarks to matter to energy to ideas in this way.
For if everything is a holon, then the universe is infinite in depth and span. Span; because galaxies are a part of the universe and the universe part of the multiverse. and it is possible the multiverse is a part of another whole. In regards to depth because the smallest known thing (or part) that we are aware of often changes to smaller forms of energy.
The tendency many people have is to see only a single variable in any complex whole and reduce it down to just one variable. My favorite example of this reductionism are scientists that reduce all thoughts, relationships and systems into pure physical objects.

Life as an RPG
This is one of many perspectives one could take on life, everything is connected
on Leveling Up
"Your character grows as the game continues.
Each monster defeated, each adventure completed,
and each treasure recovered not only adds to your
continuing story, but also earns your character
new abilities. This increase in power is ref lected by
your character’s level; as you continue to play, your
character gains more experience, rising in level and
mastering new and more powerful abilities."
- Dungeons and Dragons Players Handbook.
Player Characters
"As a player, you create a character—a heroic adventurer.
This adventurer is part of a team that delves
into dungeons, battles monsters, and explores the
world’s dark wilderness. A player-generated character
is known as a player character (PC). Like the protagonists
of a novel or a movie, player characters are at the
center of the game’s action.
When you play your D&D character, you put yourself
into your character’s shoes and make decisions as
if you were that character. You decide which door your
character opens next. You decide whether to attack
a monster, to negotiate with a villain, or to attempt a
dangerous quest. You can make these decisions based
on your character’s personality, motivations, and goals,
and you can even speak or act in character if you like.
You have almost limitless control over what your character
can do and say in the game."
