Visualization - you are as you "see" yourself.
Visualization is the act of imaging a particular situation in the present moment, first person view, with the eyes closed, it can be done with eyes open but that takes much more developed skill.
It can be used for relaxation, energy boosting, artistic/musical/culinary creativity, developing memory, muscular training, improving focus and concentration, improves dream lucidity, can allow for speed reading, neurolinguistic programming and for praying.
The picture on the left by picasso is a wonderful example of visualization gone wrong. The beautiful girl on the left side sees herself as ugly, fat with lopsided breasts. She is how she sees herself.
Developing a perfect memory:
There are two different ways of developing a perfect memory ive found thus far(id love to know of more) and there are two sources I will be using:
1. "Use your memory" by Tony Buzan
2. "Your Willpower" by Charles Godfrey Leland
3. Me
1. According to Tony Buzan the art of a perfect memory had been attained long ago by many of the ancient greeks(all those philosophers that never wrote anything down.
There are many main ingredients to the perfect memory they are:
Colour: the brighter the more vivid and abstract the better.
Imagination: the more vivid the better, heres subcatagories,
expansion: if outrageously big, the more you can focus on
contraction: something normally small will be odd
absurdity: the more zany and absurd the more they stand out
Rhythm: think like a song stuck in your head, rhythm and variation
Movement: just like dreaming the more movement the more vivid oddly enough
The Senses: taste, touch, smell, seeing, hearing
Sex: this is pure drive and instinct, it like everything else is a form of creation
Sequencing and Ordering: in mind time doesnt exist only order
Number: makes ordering easier
Dimension: 3d is much more involving then 2d
He talks about how to make stories that place memories into. Its takes practice get his book, if you cant ill get you a copy.
2. Charles Godfrey Leland talks about improving your memory and much much more by developing willpower before memory because you can force yourself to remember something if you have the discipline. I will put an article up on willpower. With willpower in place you constantly remind yourself (visualy) of the information, the more you refresh the more ontop of your memory it is.
3. What ive been practicing recently is before I go to bed, I visualize my entire day in as much detail as possible from night to day. It could be better to go day to night but who knows. Try really hard to remember every little detail from conversations, from lectures, from things you saw on a jog, from what you read, what you saw on tv, what you ate, what it tasted like and so on. For ideas on increasing detail go through tony buzans list!
Muscular training capabilities
According to Karate of Okinawa:
"Just before the 1980 Olympics, the Russian coaches and scientists did tests with the athletes, comparing mental and physical training methods. The subjects were all world class atheletes participating in the study. The training regimens included:
1. 100% physical training
2. 75% physical training, 25% mental training
3. 50% physical training, 50% mental training
4. 25% physical training, 75% mental training
The forth group showed the greatest improvement, followed by group 3, group 2, and group 1 in that order. The soviets had discovered that mental images actually can act as a prelude to muscular impulses."
Improves Artistic Skills, Culinary and Musical
Until I write this section fully;
If you were to sketch a submarine right now how would it look?
If you were to reminise on every submarine you ever seen in your entire life for 30 days straight then draw a submarine would it look better?
Do you imagine what things tasted like before you add them to whatever your cooking?
If you can internalize notes before you play an instrument you can learn that instrument 1000 times faster. Its called perfect pitch by david lucas burge.
Improves Focus and Concentration
Law of Attraction
The law of attraction has existed forever but the most recent popular book on the topic is called "the secret" by Rhonda Byrne. Its a simple version of all ancient teachings just focusing basicly on positivity.
This entire law is an explanation of the law of giving and receiving.
Heres my summary with my own spiritual understanding:
what you think you attract
life is the law of attraction/love/oneness/giving and receiving
the law of attraction is indifferent, it sees not good or bad
good and bad is a perception not an event or circumstance.
what exists now is what was thought,
whatever you thought you became,
the present moment is what you think of it,
your current thoughts change your future,
everything sent out returns to the source, (go punch someone)
everything on the outside is inside, (people dont make you angry, your response does)
feelings are the physical expression of thought,
love is the most powerful feeling
love is also known as the feeling of oneness or
understanding the connection between one and/or all things
meditation recharges the power and focus of your thoughts, like a battery.
Gratitude puts you in a positive state to accept all things you ask for.
give thanks for things as if you already have them, feel blessed.
Give things away wholeheartly knowing you have abundance.
action is key to receiving, paint a picture or write a story of your desired outcome.
if you expect a spose, make space for them.. etc.
If you want others to do something make sure your doing the same yourself.
Be aware of the present moment, thoughts and feelings.
You and everything is energy
You can attract that energy into your life.
You and all are one. You are attracting yourself.
1. Ask, I am so happy and grateful now that: (Place your order with the universe then sit back).
2. Believe, unwavering faith, certainty, no doubt. Feel it. Think it. Act it.
3. Receive, feel good to go with the flow of the universe.
Problems:
it states that you should not participate in the how in manifesting our desired reality because it is not unwavering faith.
Planning can definitly help you achieve your goal.
There is a story of a man who was standing on a house after all the rooms in his house were flooded with rain and as it continued to pore he stood there knowing god would save him. And as the water reached his heart a man in a boat came along and seeked to bring him to safety, but the man refused stating that he knew god would save him. As the water reached his neck another boat came along and yet again he said the same thing knowing god would save him. Finally as the water reached his nose a helicopter came to rescue him and again he sent it away. He died.
In heaven he asked god why he did not save him and god said:
Im just as confused as you are i sent you two boats and a helicopter.
Maybe its more along the lines of accept what good does come to you and take it in whatever form. Dont expect abundance via 4 million dollars to drop in your lap, instead ask for abundance then enjoy the new job opportunity or w/e.
If you really like it and it changes your life then be sure to support her. Via donation or buying one of her products.
Heres a link to a wonderful site that talks further about visualization especially the law of attraction:
